An Elk Grove man on vacation in Yuma County, Ariz., is missing, according to authorities.
Troy Schmeltz, 73, went missing from the Yuma Lakes RV resort at about 5:30 p.m. Friday. He was last seen going west through the park for an evening walk, according to the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office.
Schmeltz has no known medical conditions.
Most of his family from the Sacramento area have gone to Arizona to help look for Schmeltz. His granddaughter, Taylor Chord, said that her grandfather and grandmother travel for months every year in their recreational vehicle, enjoying the United States and Mexico.
“He has been really healthy,” Chord said. “He drives his RV everywhere.”
