The name of the man stabbed to death a week ago in North Highlands has been released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s office.
He was identified as 33-year-old Ansar Muhammad.
Kevin Cottle, 36, of North Highlands was arrested on suspicion of homicide in the killing of Muhammad.
Muhammad was in a confrontation with Cottle on Feb. 20 when he was stabbed more than once in his upper torso, a Sacramento County Sheriff's Department press release stated. The two men knew each other.
Deputies responding to a call to the area of Cornelia Way and Bruce Way at about 8:10 p.m. found Muhammad suffering from multiple stab wounds. Deputies administered aid before he was taken to the hospital by medical personnel where he was pronounced dead at 8:40 p.m. on Feb. 20.
