An 18-year-old was arrested on suspicion of burglary after he was allegedly stopped while trying to pry open a window screen at a Natomas home.

An officer responded to a Gresham Lane residence at about 5 p.m. Sunday for a report about a person jumping a fence into a back yard. When the officer arrived they found the teen “actively prying off a window screen,” according to a Sacramento police activity log.

The officer contacted the suspected burglar who “became resistive” when the officer tried to control him. After a brief struggle, the officer was able to place the teen under arrest.

His name was not immediately released due to the youth’s possible involvement in a pending investigation of another crime.
