Five people protesting the use of drone aircraft were arrested at Beale Air Force Base on Ash Wednesday.
The group walked onto the base spreading ashes they said memorialized children killed by U.S. drones overseas. A base spokesman said it is illegal for anyone to enter a military installation without a proper Department of Defense identification.
Protestors identified the five in a press release as the Rev. Sharon Delgado of Nevada City, the Rev. Elizabeth Griswold of Davis and Sacramento, the Rev. Jerry Pederson of Sacramento, Flora Rogers of Marysville and Michael Kerr of Bay Point, Contra Costa County.
