An Elverta home sustained significant damage in a Tuesday morning fire.
Sacramento County Metropolitan Fire District crews were dispatched about 11 a.m. to the 8200 block of Manhart Way. The fire, which started in a bedroom, quickly spread to the attic and other areas of the house, according for a district news release.
The occupants were able to get out of the house before firefighters arrived. Fire officials said paramedics evaluated one person with a medical complaint, but he declined transportation to a hospital.
Significant fire, smoke and heat damage was reported to the inside of the house, but crews were able to save the exterior, officials said.
The cause of the fire has not been determined.
