A Nevada man is in El Dorado County jail, accused of attempted murder after he allegedly held a gun to a teenager’s head and threatened to kill him.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 2900 block of Spruce Street in Pollock Pines on Wednesday evening regarding a report of shots fired and people arguing about a gun.

Deputies found a 15-year-old boy who told them that a man, later identified as Lawrence Stone, 50, of Fernley, Nev., threw him to the ground, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release. After allegedly holding a semi-automatic handgun to the youth’s head and threatening to kill him, Stone reportedly fired multiple gunshots. The youth was not injured in the incident, sheriff’s officials said.

Stone was found nearby in a relative’s apartment, where he cooperated with deputies and was taken into custody. Deputies also found a loaded semi-automatic handgun in his possession.

In addition to attempted murder, Stone was booked on suspicion of threatening a crime with the intent to terrorize. He is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.
