Detectives have released images from surveillance footage they say shows the car used in a drive-by shooting at a south Sacramento Home Depot last weekend.
Sheriff’s investigators have not identified the shooter, whose gunfire killed Hassan Alawsi, 44, on Florin Road about 7:40 p.m. Sunday. However, they believe the shooter was driving a teal green, four door 2000-2005 Buick Le Sabre, said sheriff’s Sgt. Lisa Bowman. The car was seen in the parking lot of Home Depot about 10 minutes before the shooting and seen exiting the south end of the parking lot onto eastbound Florin Road after the shooting.
Detectives have not determined a motive for the shooting, and suspect that Alawsi was a random target, Bowman said.
Anyone with information about the car in the images is asked to call the Sheriff’s Department at (916) 874-5115 or the sheriff’s tipline at (916) 874-TIPS, leave tip information anonymously at www.sacsheriff.com or text the tip information to 274637 with “SSD.”
