The Sacramento County Coroner’s office identified the bicyclist who died after a collision with a car in south Sacramento on Monday as Tauvaga Tui.

The crash that killed Tui, 70, of Sacramento, occurred Monday afternoon in the area of Mack Road and Center Parkway in the Parkway neighborhood, according to police. Tui was transported to a local hospital, where he died.

Preliminary information from a police activity log said that Tui was riding his bike north on Center Parkway in a south bound lane, when he pedaled through a red light and was struck by a vehicle that was traveling on Mack Road.

The driver of the vehicle was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
