The Sacramento Police Department has arrested a 20-year-old man in connection with a non-lethal shooting Friday.
The incident, believed to be the climax of an altercation between two groups of people, took place about 3 p.m. in the 400 block of 12th Street in the Alkali Flats neighborhood.
Investigation of that incident led authorities to identify Demetrius Martin as the suspected shooter.
The victim, a woman in her 20s, was taken to an area hospital with a gunshot wound to her leg.
Martin was arrested in the 1200 block of Delta Street in the nearby Dos Rios Triangle neighborhood and booked into the Sacramento County Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and violating his probation.
