The name of a man killed by intruders at an apartment a week ago has been released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Department.
He was identified as Jaemarr Townsel, 30, of Sacramento.
The sheriff's department communications center received more than one call reporting his shooting at about 10:30 p.m. April 1.
When deputies arrived at the crime scene in the 4900 block of Little Oak Lane, in a neighborhood near Madison Avenue and College Oak Drive, they were directed to an apartment where Townsel was fatally wounded.
Witnesses said that two intruders forced their way into the apartment, confronted Townsel and shot him. Before leaving, the men took items from the apartment, but a press release from the department did not disclose what was taken.
