Assemblyman Roger Dickinson, D-Sacramento, and the California Contractors State License Board will host a seminar aimed at helping senior citizens avoid becoming victims of fraud.

The free Senior Scam Stopper seminar is scheduled from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the Dante Club, 2330 Fair Oaks Blvd., in the Arden Arcade area.

Experts will provide tips on how people can protect themselves from scams. Seniors, their families and caregivers also will have an opportunity to ask questions and receive assistance if they have been victims of fraud relating to home repair, finances, telephone calls, foreign lotteries and identity theft.

To RSVP for the seminar, call Dickinson’s district office at (916) 324-4676.
