Woman dies after possibly being struck by train near CSUS

A woman died early this morning when she was possibly struck by a train near California State University, Sacramento.
Sacramento police spokesman Officer Doug Morse said officers responded to the area of Folsom Boulevard and State University Drive about 2:20 a.m. after receiving a call from members of a freight train crew saying they believed the train had struck someone.
Morse said a woman was found dead at the scene. He said officers found no sign of any criminal activity, and the death is being treated as an accident. Morse said he did not know whether the woman was on the railroad tracks, or near the tracks.
The case has been turned over the the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office. The woman’s name has not been released pending notification of family.
