A Sacramento Superior Court jury convicted Lionel Doria and Cleo Martinez-Costa of first-degree murder Tuesday in the Nov. 5, 2011, shooting death of James Hiter in the 700 block of Bell Avenue.
Judge Ernest W. Sawtelle scheduled the sentencing on Doria, 37, and Martinez-Costa, 50, for May 23. The two are facing life in prison without parole for the special-circumstance murder during the course of an attempted robbery.
Authorities said Hiter, 46, was gunned down during a drug transaction.
