El Dorado County authorities said Saturday that they have arrested a 26-year-old Placerville man thanks in part to the help of a 15-year-old boy whom officials said was an intended victim of the alleged sexual predator.
The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office said Glenn O’Rourke was booked into the county jail, with bail set at $250,000.
Officials said the 15-year-old boy reported to the sheriff’s office earlier this month that he had received sexually suggestive text messages and sexually explicit, homemade videos from O’Rourke. At the time, officials said O’Rourke identified himself to the youth as “Glenn Coco” and ultimately tried to arrange to meet the boy.
Instead, the 15-year-old assisted detectives, who said they contacted O’Rourke using the boy’s mobile phone and impersonated the boy. A meeting date and location were established, which resulted in O’Rourke’s arrest.
Detectives do not believe the 15-year-old was the only intended victim targeted by O’Rourke. They’re asking anyone with information to call Detective Rich Horn at (530) 642-4715.
