Roseville man in wheelchair dies after hit by SUV

A man in a wheelchair was hit and killed by an SUV in Roseville Sunday night.

Roseville police and Roseville firefighter-paramedics were called to the scene of the crash about 5 p.m. Sunday at Washington Boulevard and Pleasant Street where a 53-year-old Roseville man driving a sport utility vehicle collided with Ramon Esparza-Morales, who was in an electric wheelchair.

Police said that Esparza-Morales was crossing Washington Boulevard westbound in the crosswalk at Pleasant Street when the collision occurred. Esparza-Morales was pronounced dead at a hospital.

The collision is under investigation by the Roseville police Major Accident Investigation Team.
