The California Highway Patrol is asking the public’s help in finding the driver and vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash last week on Roseville Road.

Gavril Suiugan, 20, died Thursday when his motorcycle struck the side of a truck that made a left turn in front of him as he was northbound on Roseville Road approaching Outlook Drive about 8:50 p.m.

According to the CHP, a dark metallic blue GMC Sierra truck was southbound on Roseville Road approaching Outlook Drive and turned left directly in the path of the motorcyclist. Suiugan’s black 2005 KMT motorcycle struck the right side of the truck and Suiugan was ejected from the motorcycle. He died at the scene.

CHP investigators say the truck, described as a late 1990s or early 2000s GMC Sierra, had a camper shell and sustained damage to its right front side.

Anyone with information regarding the driver or the vehicle is asked to call the special investigations unit at the North Sacramento Area CHP office, (916) 338-6710 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, or Crime Alert at (916) 443-4357 or (800) 222-7463. Information also may be submitted by sending a text message to 274637. Enter SACTIP followed by the tip information. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
