The Federal Bureau of Investigation is asking the public’s help in identifying a suspect in the robbery of a Fair Oaks bank.
A man who appeared to be in his 20s had visited the American River Bank at 10123 Fair Oaks Boulevard early Friday carrying skateboard. He returned about 1:30 p.m. wearing a scraggly wig and a different ball cap, according to an FBI news release. Surveillance photos show him during each visit.
On the second visit, he demanded cash and displayed a handgun in his waistband, authorities said. He left the bank after receiving an undisclosed amount of cash.
The man is described as 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a small build and brown hair. During the robbery, he wore a black, scraggly wig; a black wristwatch; blue ball cap with an unknown logo on the front; black sunglasses; black T-shirt with “St. Thomas” in white lettering across the chest; long black shorts; and tan skater-type shoes with black laces.
His vehicle was described as an older, possibly 1980s, Datsun or Toyota truck, reddish/rust in color, with distinctive black spray-painted vertical “zebra” stripes on the sides.
The handgun used in the robbery was described as a light-colored, semiautomatic pistol.
Authorities said the man should be considered armed and dangerous.
Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call the FBI’s Sacramento Office at (916) 481-9110.
