Firefighters to offer CPR instruction in five languages during Saturday open house

The Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District will offer CPR instruction in five different languages during an open house Saturday in Citrus Heights.

The open house is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Station 21, 7641 Greenback Lane. Information will be available on water safety, smoke alarms and fire extinguishers. Live firefighter rescue skills demonstrations will be presented at 11:30 a.m.

Visitors also will have an opportunity to participate in five- to 10-minute “sidewalk CPR” sessions. The instruction in hands-only CPR will be offered by firefighters in English, Russian, Ukrainian, Vietnamese and Spanish.
