A bloodied dead dog led Rocklin police to arrest a man on suspicion of animal cruelty.
Cody Lee McKie, 23, of Rocklin was arrested on the charge Wednesday. Police said that they were called about 8:45 a.m. Wednesday to a home in the 6000 block of Woodside Drive.
There, they found a dead dog and began to piece together the story that led to McKie’s arrest. According to a press release, McKie was upset about the barking of his roommate’s dogs.
He went into the backyard of the residence and returned a few minutes later. When the owner of the dogs went to check on the animals she found that one of them had a head wound and was dead.
Police and animal control officers investigated the case and arrested McKie, booking him into Placer County Jail.
