Roseville police are asking for help finding a beagle puppy that was taken from a car in a Costco parking lot.
A man driving from the Bay Area to Lake Tahoe on Thursday afternoon stopped at the Roseville Costco on Stanford Ranch Road. He left Charlie, a 10-week-old beagle, in the car, which was in the shade and had the windows rolled down a few inches.
The man was in the store for about 15 minutes, police said. During that time, a man in his 60s went to the tire center and expressed his disgust at someone leaving the dog in the car. He then departed.
When the dog owner returned to his car, the beagle was gone.
Left behind were the animal’s collar and a note indicating that whoever took the dog was upset because the beagle was left without water.
The dog owner says he wants Charlie back. Anyone with information is asked to call Roseville police at (916) 774-5000.
