Four men from Mexico were arrested Thursday on suspicion of running a large marijuana operation in the Delta.
Juan Maciel, 35, Uriel Morales, 25, David Bailon, 28, and Cambrino Gutierrez, 25, will face charges of marijuana cultivation, pollution crimes and illegal diversion of Delta water, according to a press release.
The multi-agency raid Thursday by Sacramento County and state law enforcement personnel occurred in the western part of Grand Island in the Sacramento River Delta.
The bust also resulted in the destruction of 9,000 plants and the clean-up of 2,500 pounds of garbage, including hundreds of pounds of fertilizers and pesticides.
Two of the alleged growers had $5,000 in cash.
