A motorcyclist who died Tuesday afternoon when his vehicle hit a curb and then went out of control has been identified by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.

Coroner’s deputies identified the motorcyclist as Alex V. Selyuzhitskiy, 18, of Roseville.

The crash was reported at 1:55 p.m. Tuesday in the Antelope area and also injured a passenger on the motorcycle.

The motorcycle was southbound on Watt Avenue north of Blackfoot Way when Selyuzhitskiy allowed the motorcycle to drift to the left, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The vehicle hit the concrete curb of the median, then struck two trees in the median. Selyuzhitskiy and his female passenger were ejected from the motorcycle.

Selyuzhitskiy was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger was transported to Mercy San Juan Medical Center with major injuries.

Both riders were wearing helmets. The crash is still under investigation.
