A man struck and killed by a vehicle Friday on Highway 113 in Davis has been identified by the Yolo County Coroner’s Office as Wilbaldo Joselito Acevedo, 21, of Davis.
California Highway Patrol dispatchers received a call about 2 a.m. that a pedestrian was walking along the right shoulder of northbound Highway 113 north of Covell Boulevard.
While officers were en route, they were advised that the pedestrian apparently had been struck by a big rig north of Russell Boulevard. The big-rig driver stopped and spoke with officers.
Acevedo was wearing dark clothes on an unlighted portion of the highway and was standing in a traffic lane when he was struck, according to a CHP news release.
