One person was injured and a dog was killed in a drive-by shooting Tuesday evening in Sacramento’s Strawberry Manor neighborhood.
The Sacramento Police Department received a call at 6:55 p.m. reporting a shooting in the 100 block of Olmstead Drive.
Officers arrived and were told that several people were standing outside a residence when a vehicle pulled up and shots were fired at the group, said Officer Michele Gigante, police spokeswoman. A female was shot in a leg and was transported to UC Davis Medical Center with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening, Gigante said. A dog, a Chihuahua, also was hit by gunfire and died.
Gigante said police had received conflicting descriptions of the suspect vehicle.
