Bicyclist critically injured in Roseville; motorist arrested

Roseville police arrested a man today on suspicion of felony hit-and-run and driving under the influence after a collision that put a bicyclist in the hospital in critical but stable condition.
Alan Ryan Cassell, 24, was taken into custody at his home in Roseville after the injury to the male bicyclist that was reported at 2:28 a.m., police said.
The bicyclist, whose name was not released, was struck while riding northbound on Foothills Boulevard between Marcia Way and McAnally Drive. Police said he was hit by a southbound 2001 Ford pickup truck. The southbound lanes remained closed until 11 a.m. due to the investigation.
Cassell was booked into the Placer County jail on $50,000 bail.
