UPDATE: Driver booked in fatal collision on Broadway

A driver accused of running a red light and causing a collision in which his passenger died Sunday morning has been booked into Sacramento County Jail.
Edgar DeAlba, 24, was arrested on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, driving under the influence causing injury or death, and hit and run with death or injury, according to Sacramento police.
DeAlba’s passenger was identified by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office as Daniel DeJesus, 55, of Sacramento.
DeAlba was traveling east on Broadway about 7 a.m. when he allegedly ran a red light and was hit broadside by a pickup northbound on 16th Street, according to Sacramento police.
DeAlba attempted to flee, but was located and arrested, police said. He was booked after being treated for injuries.
Police said the pickup driver suffered minor injuries.
