A teenager is dead and two other people were taken to the hospital after an early Tuesday morning crash in South Sacramento.
Sacramento police said they received a call shortly after 2 a.m. of a car that had hit a parked vehicle on Florin Road near 21st Street. When officers arrived they found a 17-year-old girl dead in the car.
Witnesses said that at least two people had fled the crashed car into a nearby house. Officers found the driver and the passenger from the car, a male and a female, who were in their late teens or early 20s, police said.
The pair was taken to the hospital with non-critical injuries. Nobody was in custody.
Police were attempting to determine if alcohol played a factor in the crash.
