CHP to accept applications to hire officer candidates

The California Highway Patrol will open a four-day application period next month for people who want to be officers.

The CHP is looking to hire cadets from a pool of applicants for jobs around the state. Applications will only be accepted online during a four-day period between at 8 a.m. July 7 and 5 p.m. July 10.

Minimum qualifications include: must be 20-35 years old, a United States citizen, have no felony convictions and be a high school graduate. Applicants will be required to complete a testing process that includes a physical ability test, written test, background investigation, medical evaluation and psychological evaluation.
