A man accused of fatally assaulting his girlfriend’s child in Yolo County has pleaded not guilty, according to the District Attorney’s office.
Darnell Dorsey, who was 21 when he was arrested in January, has been charged with assault on a child with force likely to produce great bodily injury resulting in death.
He stands accused in the death of 19-month-old Cameron Morrison of Davis. The boy died at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento after his mother asked paramedics for help because he was unconscious at the time. He died Saturday, Jan. 25.
Dorsey is scheduled to appear in court again in July.
