Citrus Heights police are investigating the shooting of a motorcyclist Thursday night.

The motorcyclist was on his parked vehicle at about 10:25 p.m. Thursday in the 7100 block of Greenback Lane when he was approached by two men on foot and shot, police said.

The wounded motorcyclist was taken to the hospital where his condition was described as stable, according to police.

The suspects fled north on foot. Police surrounded the area but were not able to find them.

It is not known if there was an altercation before the shooting. Motive is also not known, police said Friday.
