Firefighters pulled a man from a burning home in Arden Arcade Tuesday morning.

The man was treated at the scene before being rushed to a hospital where he was reported in critical condition.

Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District crews responded to the 3500 block of East Country Club Lane near Watt Avenue about 6 a.m. where flames were seen coming from a house.

The front of the single-story house was burning when firefighters started to enter, knowing that residents might be inside. While crews worked to extinguish the blaze, other firefighters removed the man from the smoke and fire filled home.

A medic crew, with assistance from two firefighters, began treatment and transported the man to the hospital.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, according to a fire district press release.
