Grass, outbuildings burned in Rancho Cordova

Crews from the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District extinguished a grass fire that also burned two outbuildings and a reservoir covering at a de-commissioned water treatment plant on Sunday night, fire officials said.
The fire was first reported at 8:26 p.m. on Mather Boulevard and Femoyer Street in Rancho Cordova Sunday night. According to a dispatcher, the blaze was contained by 9:21 p.m.
Two outbuildings were damaged by fire and a water reservoir wooden roof was burned, according to fire officials. The fire is under investigation.
