Did anybody ever get caught for the murder of Joshua Salvant who was killed on Dry Creek Road in 1996?

– Jason, Sacramento

Joshua Salvant, 18, was found in Sacramento’s Del Paso Heights area with a gunshot wound to the head July 21, 1996.

According to stories in The Bee, Salvant was found lying on a sidewalk in the 3600 block of Dry Creek Road, several blocks from his home on North Avenue. He was taken to UC Davis Medical Center, where he died the following afternoon after his family agreed to donate some of his organs.

Police said at the time that the case would be a difficult one to solve, as detectives sought information on Salvant’s whereabouts and activities prior to the shooting. No arrests were reported.
