Bicyclist hit, killed; truck driver arrested in the incident

A bicyclist died on Foresthill Road near Auburn after she was hit by a truck Thursday.
The female bicyclist, 52, was riding her bicycle westbound on Foresthill Road on the right shoulder when the right front of a Toyota truck struck her bicycle from behind, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The truck driver, David Lee Correa, 37, exhibited symptoms of intoxication at the scene and was arrested and booked into the Placer County Main Jail for suspicion of felony driving under the influence, according to the report, but the cause for the collision is still under investigation.
The name of the bicyclist has not been released.
The California Highway Patrol Auburn Area Office is requesting that any witnesses call with information at (916) 663-3344.
