A man was killed on Highway 99, just north of Florin Road, at about 12:30 p.m. Sunday after his car hit a tree on the side of the roadway.
The brown Honda Accord struck a tree after the driver abruptly switched lanes and lost control of the car, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A child, restrained in a booster seat in the back of the car, was not seriously injured during the collision, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The scene is now clear and traffic is flowing normally.
