Sacramento County law enforcement officers arrested 43 people on suspicion of driving under the influence from Wednesday night through Friday night, three more arrests than during the same 48-hour period last year, according to a press release from Andrew Bates, a Folsom Police Department officer.
Every county enforcement agency was part of the Avoid the 17 campaign, an effort to find and arrest drunk drivers through increased staffing levels and DUI checkpoints.
No DUI deaths were reported during the 48-hour campaign this year or last year in Sacramento County, according to the press release.
