A man has been arrested on suspicion of boating under the influence after his personal watercraft allegedly hit another personal watercraft on the Sacramento River near Discovery Park.
Guadalupe Alviso, 24, was booked into Sacramento County Jail on suspicion of operating a water vessel under the influence, violating terms of probation and resisting officers attempting to discharge their duty.
Sacramento police marine officers responded to the report of a boating accident about 6 p.m. Sunday on the river involving people on two personal watercrafts. A woman wearing a life vest was thrown from her watercraft and suffered minor injury.
She was brought aboard a police boat. Alviso, apparently the pilot of the other watercraft, was contacted by officers, determined to be under the influence and was taken to jail.
