A man fatally stabbed in Amador County early Monday has been identified by the Amador County Sheriff’s Office as 26-year-old Jacob Corey Stover of Pioneer.
Deputies responded about 2:40 a.m. to a 911 call from a 27-year-old woman who said there had been a fight at a residence in the 15000 block of Poineer Creek Road in Pioneer and that her boyfriend was bleeding.
Deputies found Stover dead in the driveway. Sheriff’s officials said he appeared to have sustained multiple stab wounds.
The girlfriend told deputies what had occurred and described the vehicle driven by the individuals involved, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release.
The vehicle was found at a residence in the 25000 block of Highway 88. An investigation led to the arrest of Gregory Michael Wilson, 40, and his girlfriend, Dana June Knaul, 47, both of Pioneer. Wilson was arrested on suspicion of murder and Knaul, on suspicion of accessory to murder. Both were booked into Amador County Jail.
