Two young boys killed in a vehicle crash Friday morning near Clarksburg have been identified by the Yolo County Coroner’s Office as 2-year-old Angel Guzman and 5-year-old Alexander Guzman.

Both youngsters were residents of Clarksburg.

The single-vehicle crash occurred shortly before 10 a.m. A 2004 Honda Civic was northbound on Jefferson Boulevard south of Central Avenue. For some reason, the driver, identified by the California Highway Patrol as 42-year-old Imelda Guzman of Clarksburg, turned the vehicle to the left. This caused the Honda to rotate as it traveled across the southbound traffic lane and onto the dirt shoulder where it struck a tree, according to the CHP. The vehicle was severed in two on impact.

The children were ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

Imelda Guzman was transported to Kaiser South Medical Center with moderate injuries.
