In an effort to promote driver safety among teenage motorists, the Elk Grove Police Department will offer a July 29 presentation of the program “Moment of Impact.”
The program focuses on the “impact” of making a selfish decision behind the wheel, including the consequences for passengers riding with a driver who makes bad decisions.
The 90-minute presentation will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Elk Grove City Council Chambers, 8400 Laguna Palms Way. The session will include stories, photos, clothing and the vehicle two brothers were in when an impaired driver crossed into their lane and killed them, according to a Police Department news release.
Seating is limited. To reserve a spot, call Officer Jorge Benitez at (916) 478-8125, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Funding for the program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
