Citrus Heights police report that six people were arrested Sunday during an operation to locate and arrest individuals with active warrants for offenses related to driving under the influence.

Officers assigned to the DUI warrant sweep attempted to serve a total of 18 warrants citywide.

Such warrant sweeps and stakeouts are part of an effort to reduce the number of habitual DUI offenders who drive within the city, according to a Police Department news release.

Police remind motorists to use a designated driver, and to not drink and drive.
