A Davis teen has died of injuries suffered in a fall from the back of a car.
Christopher Argumedo, 18, was pronounced dead at 1:10 a.m. Saturday, according to the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.
Argumedo suffered head injuries July 11 and had been in the hospital since then. Davis police Sgt. Rod Rifredi said that Argumedo was riding on the trunk of a moving car along with another person near J Street and Cranbrook Court about 8:30 p.m. July 11.
“He slipped and fell off the car and hit his head,” said Rifredi. The other person was not hurt.
The accident remains under investigation. Rifredi said that the driver did not show “gross negligence.” The chances of any charges are “pretty low,” he said.
“There was no malice here,” Rifredi said. “It was kids having fun and it went wrong.”
