An Elk Grove woman was struck in the face when a stranger entered her home just before 7:30a.m. Wednesday, ransacking her house and taking several possessions.
The woman, whose name has not been released, was at home with her two children when a woman knocked on her door in the 8800 block of Springhurst Drive. When she opened the door two men with handguns entered and one of the men struck her in the face with either his fist or a gun, said Christopher Trim, spokesperson for the Elk Grove Police Department.
After the attack and rifling through the house, the three suspects left the house in a silver Nissan, taking stolen items with them. The victim was transported to a local hospital to be treated for the injuries inflicted during the robbery.
