Two men were sentenced today to life terms in prison without parole for a residential robbery murder they committed five years ago in Oak Park.
Elias Nicholas Garcia and Roman Lewis Hooker, both 27, received the terms from Sacramento Superior Court Judge Helena R. Gweon for the Nov. 12, 2009, shooting death of Donald Kirby, 47, in his V Street apartment.
Kirby was shot and killed at his front door during what authorities described as a pot robbery. Garcia, the gunman in the killing, is a former baseball player for American River College.
