Two flags that fly in front of the Sacramento LGBT Community Center were ripped from their poles and stolen Thursday night or early Friday morning.
“The rainbow flags on the front of our building serve as a beacon of safety, compassion, love, and pride for the community,” David Heitstuman, interim executive director of the LGBT center, said in an email. “They make it clear the center is here for everyone. They let you know you will not be turned away regardless of your need and that you are valued.”
The center is asking for donations to help replace the flags. For information visit: http://saccenter.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=page.viewpage&pageid=485
