A couple was killed in a boat crash near Meeks Bay early Sunday morning on Lake Tahoe, officials of the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office said.
Tatiana Nikolskaya, 44, and her husband Vadim Raizanov, 45, of San Ramon, collided with a dock at the 7000 block of Emerald Bay Road, waking people who were asleep on the dock.
The people woken up by the crash called the sheriff’s department around 1:40 a.m. No one on the dock was harmed.
The boat was traveling at high speeds and its hull split in half on impact, officials said.
The possibility that alcohol may have been a factor in the accident is being investigated, officials said. Autopsies are scheduled for early this week.
