The Citrus Heights Police Department released statistics Thursday from a DUI checkpoint conducted on Aug. 1 that screened more than 800 cars.
The checkpoint to catch drunk, drugged or unlicensed drivers was set up at Greenback Lane and Birdcage Street between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m.
Results of the checkpoint:
• 820 vehicles screened
• 2 motorists suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol arrested
• 0 motorists found driving drugged
• 6 drivers cited for operating a vehicle while unlicensed or while have a revoked or suspended license
The department plans to conduct another DUI checkpoint later in the month.
