No heat wave in sight for Northern California

Mild weather is predicted through the weekend in Sacramento, the Delta and the mountains.

The maximum Friday, Saturday and Sunday is expected to be around 92 degrees in Sacramento. The conditions pretty much mirror the average high for mid-August, which is 93 degrees.

Sacramento has not had a day in the 100s since Aug. 1 when it was 107 degrees. Mild and dry conditions are also expected in the Delta and the Sierra Nevada for the next three days:

• Sacramento Valley: 87-97 degrees
• Delta: 77-88 degrees
• Mountains: 66-70 degrees

The detailed, 7-day forecast for the Sacramento area from the NWS:

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 92. Southwest wind 3 to 7 mph.

Tonight: Clear, with a low around 61. South wind 6 to 8 mph.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 93. South southwest wind around 6 mph.

Saturday night: Clear, with a low around 61. South wind around 7 mph.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 92. Southwest wind 5 to 7 mph.

Sunday night: Clear, with a low around 61.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 89.

Monday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 62.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 90.

Tuesday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 63.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 92.

Wednesday night: Clear, with a low around 64.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 93.
