The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday released the names of the couple found dead earlier this week in a Placerville area home.

The bodies of Gene Bunch, 83, and Barbara Dozier, 85, were found Tuesday at a residence in the 3300 block of Gold Nugget Court. Deputies responded to the home for a report of an assault with a deadly weapon and possible suicide.

The bodies of Bunch and Dozier, who had lived together for many years, appeared to have gunshot wounds, according to a sheriff’s press release.

The investigation into their deaths is ongoing. The investigation includes the possibility that the deaths were part of a murder-suicide, according to the release.
