What sentence did Devonte Fields get for shooting a gun at a Sacramento police officer?
Sacramento Superior Court Judge Laurie M. Earl on June 26 sentenced Fields to 19 years and eight months in state prison, according to the court’s online records.
Fields, 23, was convicted March 5 of assault with a deadly weapon on the officer and also of being an ex-convict in possession of a weapon. Jurors acquitted Fields on the charge of trying to kill the officer.
The shooting took place in the Meadowview area in August 2011. Nobody was injured in the shooting.
